ENHANCEMENT Q & A
Call Barbara Doyle in Assessment for questions about enhancements or CAAP exam - 972-3931
Numerous questions are surfacing about how to advise students about enhancements. We are in a transition period at this time since the CAAP exam was discontinued. The general education committee will be resolving this issue during the spring term. Until them, these are my recommendations for advising until we can resolve what to do about enhancement requirements.
Students who have CAAP holds must take the associated enhancement as these students have been in the system and should have taken the CAAP at the prescribed time. Those with enhancement holds are also obligated to complete the associated writing and/or math enhancements as prescribed.
Students who do not have either of these holds who are within 30 hours of meeting graduation requirements may take an enhancement course of their choice as outlined in the bulletin they started under (available on-line). Unless there are extenuating circumstances, most all other students, especially first year and early sophomores, should be able to defer the enhancement decision until summer or fall 2008.
