The New Learning Support Center (LSC) is open in the Dean B. Ellis Library. 

Spring semester hours are Monday – Thursday 11:00 am -7:00 pm and Friday 11:00 am – 5:00 pm.  Enter through the library and take the stairs or elevator down to the first floor.   Peer tutors are available to assist in almost all 1000 and 2000 General Education courses.  Any ASU student needing assistance can make an appointment by calling 972-3451 or emailing LSC@astate.edu.  Additionally, the LSC offers students the opportunity to practice and certify in Hawkes-based mathematics courses in our Math Lab. Students requiring in-depth assistance must make an appointment. Please contact Julie Thatcher (972-3474, jthatcher@astate.edu) with questions.

ASU offers a variety of tutorial services to help meet the needs of students. The following is a list of resources for the current semester:

WRITING LAB: Assistance for written assignments.  Hours vary per semester.

LANGUAGES: Having trouble in a foreign language?  The Languages department offers these help sessions: http://www.clt.astate.edu/languages/pre06site/oldlanguagelab.htm   Study Skills Assistance: The Wilson Advising Center is committed to helping students with their academic concerns. The advisors are available to meet with and help students explore a variety of study techniques to help improve their academic outcomes.  Advisors will:

  • Evaluate in-class lecture notes , suggest improvements that students can implement the very next class
  • Evaluate reading effectiveness for better retention of material (not just memorization but learning the information
  • Work with students on how to better prepare for up coming tests and how to deal with test anxiety
  • Discuss how to better manage your time so you create additional and more effective study periods
  • Explore additional tutoring resources that exist on campus that they may not be aware of
