Students have the right to appeal academic policies and decisions at ASU. The appeals process is the forum established for ASU to investigate student concerns. The appeal process begins with a student visit to their academic advisor. The student should bring a copy of the completed petition form and an unofficial copy of their transcript to the meeting. Once the advisor had reviewed the petition and made recommendations, the form is sent to the chair of the collegeAdmissions and Credits Committee for approval. The college committee will review, make recommendations, and forward the request along with ten copies of the petition to the Registrar's office. The Registrar's office should be in receipt of the material no later than the Friday before the scheduled UniversityAdmissions and Credits meeting. It is recommended that the student attend this meeting. The University Admissions and Credits committee generally meets the first Tuesday of every month and more frequently at the start of each academic semester.
