Students have the right to appeal academic policies and decisions at ASU. The appeals process is the forum established to hear student concerns. The initial appeal process begins with a student visit to their academic advisor. The student should bring a copy of the completed petition form and an unofficial copy of their transcript to the meeting. Once the advisor had reviewed the petition and made recommendations, the form is sent to the chair of the college Admissions and Credits Committee for approval. The college committee member will review, make recommendations, and forward the request along with ten copies to the Registrar's office. The Registrar's office should be in receipt of the material no later than the Friday before the scheduled Admissions and Credits meeting. It is recommended that the student attend the meeting. The University Admissions and Credits committee meets the first Tuesday of every month and more frequently at the start of each academic semester.
